President Lee Jae Myung has seen his approval rating climb to 65% as he completes his first 30 days in office, according to a recent survey. The poll, conducted by Gallup Korea among 1,001 adults between Tuesday and Thursday, showed a 1 percentage point increase from the previous week’s inaugural approval rating survey.
While 65% of respondents expressed approval of Lee’s performance, 23% disapproved, and 12% remained undecided. Criticisms contributing to the negative assessment included his policies on welfare and livelihood support, perceived shortcomings in diplomacy, and real estate.
The ruling Democratic Party also experienced a boost in support, with its approval rating rising to 46%, a 3 percentage point increase from the previous week. Conversely, support for the main opposition People Power Party declined by 1 percentage point, settling at 22%.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
