Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is not preparing for any conflict with Europe, addressing concerns from some NATO members about potential threats to alliance territories. Putin dismissed claims that Moscow was gearing up for hostilities and insisted that Russia had no intention to escalate tensions with European countries.
During his remarks, Putin also mentioned that Russia is evaluating whether to resume peace talks with Ukraine. This consideration follows recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian soil, which have prompted Moscow to deliberate on its next steps before engaging in potential negotiations.
Despite these diplomatic contemplations, Russian airstrikes across Ukraine continue to inflict casualties and damage. A recent attack in Kyiv resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including a 14-year-old boy, and left dozens more injured. These airstrikes have also targeted industrial sites, with ArcelorMittal announcing the shutdown of production at Ukraine’s largest steel plant due to repeated strikes that damaged the facility and resulted in worker fatalities.
The ongoing conflict and resultant destruction have compounded economic challenges for Ukraine, adding pressure to an already strained nation as the war persists.
