Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for the establishment of a more stable multipolar world order, linking the current global security crisis to bloc confrontation and the pursuit of unilateral security advantages by certain countries. Speaking at the 23rd annual Valdai Discussion Club meeting, Putin emphasized the need for resolving the conflict in Ukraine through compromise and negotiations, rather than the outright defeat of either side.
Putin expressed Russia’s desire for Ukraine to remain neutral following the resolution of the conflict. He argued that the existing unipolar international system is transitioning toward a multipolar order and advocated for greater cooperation among nations based on their individual interests. Russia, he stated, is prepared to collaborate with other countries to develop a framework for a more stable international system.
In a separate development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the first combat use of Ukraine’s domestically developed FP-7 tactical ballistic missile. Although Zelenskyy did not specify where or against which target the missile was deployed, he indicated that Ukraine plans to advance toward production of the missile.
